Built on the ruins of one of the First empire’s great flying cities, the city of Andir stands proud as the spiritual capital of the Chothgar people as the homeplace of their prophet Meisodh the Traveller. When it first fell from the heavens its ruined shell became a home to the Chothgar as they searched for a safe place to protect themselves from the chaos which followed the fall of the First Empire. Once Meisodh united the Chothgar people he turned this ruined city into a worthy capital for his emerging empire, making it one of the largest and most beautiful cities of Kimon itself. Even after his death and the fragmentation of the Chothgar people this city remained as a holy place they all respected, becoming the seat of power for the Traveller’s church and its spiritual leadership.
Renowned as the unbreakable city, many great empires have tried to breach the great walls of Feyn’s Throne only to fail and lose it all. While the city dates back to the time of the old Ustilian kingdom it only began to take its current form under the Ustilian empire as its emperors built three great walls blessed by Feyn himself to protect the city. For a long time it was the largest and most populated city in the Continent and served as a living testament to the might of the Ustilian empire. The city’s most radical change came with the death of Feyn and the rise of the Inheritor, changing its identity and even its name to Sek-Tessos to honor the empire’s new god and adapt to changing times.
A living testament to the union between spirits and humans, the city of Homay is the holiest place in all Shinri and has traditionally served as the Shinri Emperor’s seat of power and the location of the Imperial court. The traditional seat of the Hibotoru clan, Iwakashi is the most prosperous city in northwestern Shinri thanks to its strategic position in the Shinri-Iskarian trade route. This city has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times throughout its history because of the many wars and natural disasters that ravaged the region, caused in part because of the city’s proximity to the tempramental fire spirit Suzakushin’s domain. Just as the phoenix rises again from the ashes the city has always managed to survive and return to its former strength even after great calamities.
The city of progress and opportunities, Klonum represents the shining future of Shinri and is a living symbol of how advanced the once-backwards region has become. The city is the second-most populated city in the continent along with the nation’s economic and financial center. Nevertheless, there is hope that Klonum can overcome its problems and live up to its reputation as the city of the future.
Known as the city of fortune and delights, Port Pedang is well known for its reputation that one can enter it poor and leave it covered in riches. Due to its proximity to the domain of the spirit of fortune Tomii-Koyatu luck often smiles on the people of Port Pedang, but the riches one can gain just as easily can be lost once misfortune strikes. The city has historically been very rich thanks to its position as an important seaport, but due to strong competition from Klonum and Jaminikai it shifted its main industry to gambling and entertainment. While Shinri’s most respectable lords often look down as this city as nothing more than a den of vice it remains an extremely popular destination for those ambitious and foolish enough to gamble it all in the hopes that Tomii-Koyatu will make them rich.
A city of three cultures, Rizad sits on the Continental canal as the crossroads between two continents and two seas. Its strategically important position guarantees that whoever controls it will be in charge of all trade between the Inner sea and the great western ocean, making it coveted by the continent’s great empires. Due to its long history of changing hands the city has developed a unique culture of its own blending traditions of both north and south. The city boasts a diverse population mostly composed of Ustilians, Temash and Jaddites whose relationship has historically fluctuated between harmony and ethnic strife. Because of its complicated history and unpredictable future the city many have defined it as a place of organized chaos where anything can happen and changes strike when they are least expected.
The decadent heart of Mazarin, Svaikal was once a city of great hope that has become nothing that a shell of what it once was. To many it is a symbol of Mazarin’s failure itself, always falling into ruin no matter who sits on its throne. Nevertheless, its hardy people still have hope for a shining future and fondly remember those days when Svaikal was a capital worthy of its name, inspiring powerful bonds between them and pushing them to improve the city one step at a time so it can finally reach its true potential.
